Dec 15 '11 Seasons greetings ladies and gentleman

Posted in: Blog

I guess we should give you a little update of what’s going on in the world of Twin Atlantic eh? It’s all very interesting.

This week you may have seen us on the cover of Kerrang! magazine. It’s a very proud moment for us, our first magazine cover. We all grew up reading that magazine, and got to see our favourite bands on the cover, so to see our weird faces on there is so surreal but massively exciting at the same time.

We also just found out that we’ve been named iTunes New Artist of the Year for Rock. Pretty nice!

Our single ‘Free’ is currently on the BBC Radio 1 A List, another massive achievement for us. It will stay there over Christmas so please make sure to request it if you’re listening in and want to hear it on your wireless box of choice.

But about the important matter of touring I don’t hear you ask? Well, need you ask no longer. We’ve just announced that we’ll be coming back to North America in January/February with The Swellers and You Me At Six. Our feet have hardly touched the ground since we finished the AWOLNATION tour over there at the end of November, so we’re glad to get to keep the momentum going and play in many of the cities we did last month, as well as many new ones too. The promise of American ‘candy’ is always hugely appealing too….

Here’s the dates…

Jan 24th – Cleveland OH, Grog Shop
Jan 25th – Chicago IL, Beat Kitchen
Jan 26th – Pontiac MI, Pike Room
Jan 27th – Toronto ON, Sneaky Dee’s
Jan 28th – Pittsburgh PA, Smiling Moose
Jan 29th – New York NY, Studio
Jan 30th – Worcester MA, Palladium
Jan 31st – Philadelphia PA, Barbary
Feb 1st – Baltimore MD, Ottobar
Feb 2nd – Charlotte NC, The Casbah
Feb 3rd – Atlanta GA, Masquerade
Feb 4th – Orlando FL, The Social
Feb 6th – Houston TX, Warehouse
Feb 7th – San Antonio TX, White Rabbit
Feb 8th – Dallas TX, The Door
Feb 10th – Mesa AZ, The Nile
Feb 11th – San Diego CA, Soma
Feb 12th – Anaheim CA, Chain Reaction
Feb 14th – Los Angeles CA, Troubadour

But what are we doing right now? Well, we’re coming to the end of our UK FREE-ZE Tour aren’t we? I think we can all say hands down that this has been our most memorable tour to date. To see all the English shows sell out and see how passionate the people that have been turning up every night have been – it’s mind blowing. Seeing the crowds South of the border start to have the same reaction to us live as people in Scotland have for the last while has felt like a huge payoff for us. Just the Scottish shows to go now, we couldn’t be more excited about them.

Also, if you haven’t checked it out already we have a cool project going on with our friends The Uprising Creative and Instagram. It’s called the Twinstagram Photo Mosaic Project. It’s very clever, read all about it here…

I think that’s all we have to reveal right now, there’s lots more exciting stuff in the pipeline but this is neither the time nor place to talk about it. Keep your ears to the ground. All there’s left to say is have a great Christmas and New Year, hope you get to spend it with those you love.

Thank you for all your support this year, you’re making our dreams come true.

Oct 20 '11 Hello there humans, hope this mail finds you well

Aug 11 '11 Greetings Fans of Rock Music

Posted in: Blog

Thank you very much for signing up to the Twin Atlantic mailing list, we’re hoping to make this quite a regular deal – it means you get to keep up to date with what the band is up to before anyone else and possibly we’ll be able to offer you some exclusives down the line for your commitment.

Anyway… this is just a brief hello and welcome, but whilst i’m here i’d better plug our shiny new video for ‘Make A Beast Of Myself’…

You may have seen it already, but it’s worth a second (and third and fourth) look so you can see the brief cameo from Danny Glover. Didn’t see him? Then watch it again, he’s definitely in there.

Another thank you should be sent the way of anyone who has to taken the time to see us at a festival this summer, we’ve had some really special shows because of it and it’s all down to you for making them a success.

We aren’t done yet though, here’s what we have left in August:

18th August – Pukkelpop Festival, Hasselt (Shelter Stage)
20th August – Stuttgart, LKA-Longhorn (supporting BoySetsFire)
21st August – Highfield Festival, Hohefelden (Green Stage)
26th August – Leeds Festival (Festival Republic Stage)
28th August – Reading Festival (Festival Republic Stage)
Any of you who are coming to one of these shows, we hope you can make the time to catch us. We’ll make sure you don’t regret it.

If you aren’t lucky enough to be at any of these shows do not fret… we have some very exciting plans for the rest of the year which we should be able to announce very soon. As soon as we can, we will.

Until then, stay classy.
