It seems like quite a while since we’ve had news for you all – we can assure you that we haven’t been extremely lazy and relaxed since then though. We’ve had something we’ve been dying to announce for what feels like an age – but we’ve been holding it in to let you all have a little break from us. But now we’re back like Knight Rider. Only much better than that.
Here’s the big news. We’re about halfway through recording our second album.
We’ve been at Rockfield in Wales with Mr. Gil Norton since the start of May, and without giving too much about the songs away, it’s turning out very exciting indeed. Working with Gil again has been wonderful and it felt like we were destined to record the follow up to ‘Free’ with him. This time around we haven’t had to get to know each other and figure out how each other likes to work – we all came in focused from the start and got to work. It’s already feeling like ‘Free’ was just a prelude to what we’re creating this time around.
And the setting has been massively inspiring to say the least. Rockfield’s history is pretty much unsurpassed as residential studios go – name any band UK band that’s worth talking about for the last 40 years and they’ve probably recorded here. There’s definitely some magic in the air. Living at the studio has been an amazing experience too, you do actually feel like your living and breathing the recording process. Getting up in the morning and going straight to work – it’s just felt right.
We’re still a while off from finishing, but we do have a few festival appearances this summer where we’ll be trying out some new material to see if it’s actually as good as we think it is… It feels like we’ve been gone forever, so we hope to see a lot of you over the next couple of months to get reacquainted.
Saturday 24th August – Reading Festival 2013 (Main Stage)
Sunday 25th August – Leeds Festival 2013 (Main Stage)
We already have things hatching for later in the year, but nothing we can talk about just yet. That’s all we have to say for now. Back to the studio!
See you all soon,
