Greetings friends of Rock-n-Roll:

We are having a fantastic time on the road on our current headline tour, and hope to see you soon if we haven’t passed through your town already. Our sold-out ABC and King Tut’s shows in Glasgow this past weekend were truly spectacular – thanks to all of you who came down to the gigs and made them truly memorable events for us.

With the proper release of our “Lightspeed” single coming up on 1st March, we figured it was time to update you on b-sides and happenings around that.

“Lightspeed” will be released on limited 2x 7-inch vinyl, as well as available digitally via all your favorite retailers of the computer machine variety.

The b-side for vinyl #1 is a remix of “Lightspeed” by Michael Woods (http://www.myspace.com/michaelwoodsrecords), and will be in a cardboard sleeve with the beautiful artwork you may have seen on our website or Twitter page. Get your dancing shoes on.

The b-side for vinyl #2 is a remix of “Old Grey Face” by L’Amour La Morgue (http://www.myspace.com/lamourlamorgue). It comes on clear vinyl in a green PVC sleeve, and will be available exclusively via our friends at Avalanche Records in Glasgow, either in person or by mail order at http://www.avalancheglasgow.co.uk.

To accompany the release, we will be appearing at One Up Records in Aberdeen at 5pm on Monday 1st March. (http://www.oneupmusic.co.uk/) Please come by and say hello.

We will also be performing a very intimate show for a small number of fans in Glasgow on Tuesday, 2nd March. The show is for over 14s and entry is via wristband only. Wristbands will be available from Avalanche in Glasgow, and winners will be selected via drawing on Monday afternoon. For details please visit the store or http://www.avalancheglasgow.co.uk.

Twin Atlantic Announce First US Tour This Spring!

Scottish rockers Twin Atlantic will make their long-awaited US touring debut this spring opening a national co-headlining tour with The Fall Of Troy and Envy On The Coast. Recently featured on the cover of the UK’s celebrated Rock Sound Magazine, Twin Atlantic will showcase songs from their debut mini-album Vivarium on stages from coast to coast, including a stop at SXSW.

Twin Atlantic have shared stages with Smashing Pumpkins, Circa Survive and Taking Back Sunday in the past and recently received praise from Alternative Press, Nylon and more. Check out video of the band’s impressive live performances and the new video for the song “What Is Light? Where Is Laughter?” here.

Some praise for Twin Atlantic live:

“When the boys wail into the microphone, it feels like a direct transfusion of the feelings in their guts. This is what you want to listen to when you’re scared. This is what you want to listen to when you’re tired, but cant be. This is what you want to listen to when you’re about to do something big.” – Nylon Magazine

“It’s a dizzying rush of thundering drums, drilling basslines and electrifying riffs. There’s a surprise around every turn, a king-size chorus here, a sudden pause, swooping solo or heart-stopping stage dive there. This is Twin Atlantic live and it’s an experience not to be missed.” – Scotland’s News of the World

“Those present witness a beautifully subtle combination of killer melodies, jerky, asymmetrical riffs and charisma and energy to spare. The gorgeous light and shade suggests world-beating things to come…” – Kerrang!

Nov 23 '09 Skrillex (aka Sonny Moore) Remix Of “what Is Light? Where Is Laughter?” On Altpress.com

SKRILLEX (AKA SONNY MOORE) REMIX OF TWIN ATLANTIC’S “WHAT IS LIGHT? WHERE IS LAUGHTER?” STREAMING EXCLUSIVELY AT WWW.ALTPRESS.COM ALL WEEK

November 23, 2009 – Glasgow’s Twin Atlantic has teamed up with www.Altpress.com to offer music fans an exclusive stream of the brand new “Skrillex Remix” of its latest single, “What Is Light? Where Is Laughter?”

The song was remixed by Twin Atlantic fan Skrillex (AKA Sonny Moore of Sonny/From First to Last fame) and can be streamed here: http://altpress.com/features/twinatlanticremix.htm

“It reminds us of driving too fast in our friends’ cars when they just passed their tests and going to Archaos Club in Glasgow on a Friday night for the dancing,” Twin Atlantic singer/guitarist Sam McTrusty explains. “Sonny has put his own spin on our song and we really respect that.”

“I had a lot of fun doing this remix,” Moore points out. “It was my first time dealing with a Scottish a cappella, not to mention a track that wasn’t done to a click, which was a little bit of a challenge. On top of that it was the first drum and bass track I attempted to make which is a total different monster than house or electro as far as mix goes. But nonetheless, it was a great pleasure to do this remix. It always helps when the vocal performance emits that special ‘thing’ we can’t really put our fingers on but know when it’s there.”

Skrillex remix is included on the b-side of the single – out next week…
